Chapter 4: Memory and Knowledge

Have a huge party coming up? Or a holiday to prepare for? There is no better place than the Dollar Tree to shop for affordable decorations. In my personal experience, I used to take countless trips with my mom and/or grandma to look at the many seasonal decorations that Dollar Tree had to offer! At the time, it was a drag going in there. Standing by mom's side watching her pour decorations into our cart, the trill and smile it put on her face was priceless. Then coming straight home after and seeing everything being put up with for whatever holiday or event we had coming up added this nostalgic feeling to the house.

The influence that a simple shopping experience has on the mind is extraordinary. The memories that follow such an experience are what Doller Tree does best. Dollar Tree implies their brand image of affordable items that keep us returning.

Memory

Dollar Tree has this unique ability to reach customers' long-term memory. Their customers know when is the right time to go and what to expect when shopping. Also, the benefits of having a store that sells items around $1 (will be increased to $1.25) trigger our consumer memory because of prior experience.

Knowledge

The knowledge behind the Doller Tree is to make everyone feel included. It does not matter where you come from or your background; what matters is that you are saving money. The customer adds their own experience to what they buy, creating a unique setting for their home on a bargain deal.

The dollar tree may not hold a high materialistic value, but it allows for more sentimental value. With D.I.Y becoming a trend, many handmade gifts have held a higher value for some. Dollar Tree will enable customers to express their emotions fully. Personality Personality is customers' patterns that they may have picked up from growing up or from their parents.
